Exploding taste-buds, as Nora put it.
Hey, folks. I'm leaving soon. But I haven't been in one place for longer than a week since the beginning of the month, so this statement may not mean all that much to some of the people I've already left. Teaching English in Thailand is next. I've just spent the last hour or so listening to my sister in-law remember some of the adventures she had in Cairo, Egypt. She lived there for a year before marrying my brother and gained a wealth of stories. Smothering, smelly polyester in the metro; buses that are so crowded, the bus driver doesn't hear when you yell your stop; gas stoves that you light with matches and risk getting burned... to name a few. Something/someone (Nora?) tells me that living in Bangkok will be something perhaps easier than living in Egypt was for Lisa...
Getting ready... Get ready...
And I will miss all of those whom I've left and will soon leave. We'll keep writing--keep writing. Thanks for caring for me, for being there and listening and providing support and advice to me when I needed to hear something, someone. When I couldn't quite hear much myself. Thanks for showing me how to follow and know Jesus better. Love better.

And some lyrics to remember;
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten.
Write well, B-go.
Peace,
Taiko-ma
