recap
--Last night: Karaoke at a so-called "low-so" (low society) karaoke place. I sang "It's Raining Men," and it was a hit... That could be embarrassing to some people, but I know my friend Lindsay (and Angela, probably) would've loved it if only she could've been there. And, you know, there were only a few friends there in that tiny room with rusty speakers. Thai people love karaoke, and the boys had some competition going as our time dwindled... They kept cutting each other off in hopes of getting in just one more song. Let me tell you, that was a treat to see.
--Ate some of the largest shrimp I've ever seen in my life. It was actually quite frightening.
--Picked up a package at the same time I picked up an extra key to my room, which included watercolors, markers, glue-sticks, beads, and fancy-fun napkins, which I forgot to bring along to the restaurant where I blew out my 4 candles and 3 green beans and ate cake. (Green beans look awfully similar to candles, you know.) I also wore the earings to karaoke and dinner. Thanks, Mom.
--Shipped out two new letters (well, postcard and letter) to the U.S. from the Owl Post at Hogwarts School of Magic and Wizardry. I wish.
--Waited for 2 oral exam students who never showed; then made up for the down time by playing games in class. Who says you have to be serious at work on your birthday?
--Talked with the Missouri folks.
--Listened to and watched my nephew sing Happy Birthday to himself because, c'mon, Judah is so much easier to say!
--Recieved the complete poems and selected letters of John Keats from Nojay; Peace Like A River from NH. Pretty excited over both.
--Bible studied and breakfasted with Nojay--our daily bread. Thanks, friends, for a delightful birthday!
Much love.

Umm, I would just like to say that the family I babysit for has an Aunt Bethany and it's actually easier if you allow your nickname to be 'Booty.' Think about the benefits: you can be pirate treasure. You can confuse children by telling them that piggy banks are actually called 'booty' - and then tell them to shake theirs to get the money out.
I guess I'm just saying, there's some serious potential to be considered. ;)

Oh, and of course it would make singing Happy Birthday slightly more manageable.
