meat

First lab exam of the semester tomorrow for Anatomy & Physiology II. I guess I feel pretty ready for the brain, the cranial nerves, the spinal cord, and most of the ear and eye. Cow eyeballs (are gigantic) and sheep brains on the plate.

Unfortunately, my chemistry exam on thursday isn't looking so hot. So much to memorize, and so little time.

(Try naming acids with polyatomic ions: if gigantrate were a real ion, maybe it would be called gigantric acid in acid form. Formula: HGi, you think?)

But in order to keep myself from swelling from overwhemsion (so I made it up), I dropped the Russian course. Maybe it will disappoint you to find out, but seriously. What was I thinking? I was killing myself and whatever future I hoped for as a nurse. Studying sciences is a must, I'm learning.

The future is looking, even if only slightly, brighter. In Biblestudy, I'm learning about Paul. I'm reading the Bible because I want to now! Feels like it's been a long time since I've hit such a place of desire.

On another note, since my mom's been gone a week, I've been cooking for Dad. Of meats, I cooked chicken, hamburger, hot-dog, and salmon this week. That's three new out of four tried (and I only ate the salmon). I feel accomplished.

Be well, all.

  • Sounds like the Russian was a good move; no sense being miserable with it (that's what Chemistry is for!).

Good luck with A&P; remember, names will tell you a lot about the pieces and parts and locations and functions. Too bad they were all named in a dead language.

    Peace,
    Taiko-ma

P.S. When you've finished reading my last (nudge nudge, hint hint), I have another for you.

  • How did the exam go? (Well, both - the A&P, and chem?)

Good move with Russian. How hard to part with our passions (language studies, maybe, for both of us) - but practicality is a must, too. And most often, the parting is only temporary. There will be calmer semesters...

    And desire--!
    And cooking!

As for the half marathon... the choice is yours, and I won't try to deter you, but it is Sunday morning, and I for one and going to be missing church - not sure you'd want the same.

    As always, mit liebe,
    N.
