last night i dreamt of organic molecules
My Chemistry exam tomorrow over our speed-section on organic chemistry will be exciting. The allotted 4-hour time interval should be enough, I think. Actually, we're already cutting one hour for extra sleep (or study) time and two of the remaining four hours will be dismissal for fast-finishers, whereas it would normally go to lab time. Hallelujah--lab is canceled!
If you're having some trouble following my sentences, don't worry. Maybe I'm condensing the language some because in organic chemistry there's such a thing as "condensed structures." Last night, instead of keeping up with the vote-counting, I spent hours going over polysyllabic nomenclature of organic molecules and structures. Holy-moly! I kept waking up with things like 4-methyl-2,2-dipropyl-heptanone on my brain.
I think I'm the only weirdo in my class who enjoys organic chemistry (and if they all knew my enjoyment, they'd probably all hate me). Granted, it's been a 2-week cram-session of some of the more basic and more generic kinds of organic chemistry and functional groups and I'd probably be of another opinion if I were in a semester-long organic chem. class. Nonetheless. I'm trying to figure out if there's anything at all artistic about it that appeals to me, or if it's the systematic method in it that I enjoy. It's puzzly--which was how I put it on day one--and you know I like puzzles.
Now, can somebody tell me how to feel the same way about human physiology that I do about organic? Thus, my real problem for the semester. I have yet to ace a single assignment in A&P for the semester. It's not about grades, but good ones sure help.
Oh, yeah. To the dear friend who just confessed that she reads this thing: thank you so much! And I do hope you are well. Also, do you have any study tips for learning the sciences? If you don't want to reveal yourself as a nerd on here, feel free to do so in an e-mail to me... he, he, he.
