keep singing
Long time since I posted last? Maybe that's only true if you exclude the poetry--whatever it is.
Either way, today's news is that I turned in my official letter of resignation, which I keep trying to refer to as "my letter of resurrection" and an act of faith. Now trying to get things in order before the end of the semester. Less than four weeks of teaching here, which is almost nothing. Lots of papers still to grade, but even that is almost nothing. Almost nothing.
Still reading about prayer and meditation with Thomas Merton's Contemplative Prayer, which I'd recommend to anyone thinking about deepening their prayer life. Still reading about the astounding missionary Amy Carmichael from Elizabeth Elliott's A Chance to Die. Still trying to sing Keith Green's
...Make my life a prayer to You;
I want to do what You want me to.
No empty words and no white lies;
No token prayers, no compromise...
and mean it; truly mean it. Anyone willing to pray that prayer seems to get that "Chance to Die."
Keep finding myself with less and less to say. Seems to be true all around, eh?
And what the heck?
Today is Tuesday.
